According to research of government the regions of Tabora, Geita, Mtwara and Shinyanga have been leading in absenteeism of secondary school students but the regions of Rukwa, Geita, Tabora, Singida and Simiyu have been leading in absenteeism of primary school students.Statistics show that Tabora region leads with 9.7 percent of absent secondary school students followed by Geita (8.1 percent), Mtwara (6.1 percent) and Shinyanga (6.3 percent).For primary schools, Rukwa leads with 3.2 percent, followed by Geita (3.1 percent), Tabora (2.9 percent), Singida (2 percent) and Simiyu (2 percent).
The ESBN plans to do a school distribution project in existing schools especially in rural areas to reduce student absenteeism in those regions, this project will help improve education as it will enable students to attend on time throughout their studies.
