Health Interventions
At Empower Society Build the Nation (ESBN), we believe that access to quality healthcare is a basic human right—not a privilege. Our health interventions aim to reduce preventable illnesses and deaths among Tanzania’s most vulnerable populations, particularly women and children.
The Health Crisis in Tanzania
Tanzania continues to face significant public health challenges:
45 deaths per 1,000 live births (UNICEF, 2023)
27% of child deaths caused by malaria
30% of children suffer from stunting and 4% from wasting (TDHS, 2022)
85% vaccination coverage, leaving gaps in immunity (MoHCDGEC, 2023)
24.5% of maternal deaths linked to critical blood shortages (Tanzania Blood Services, 2017)
These statistics underscore the urgent need for sustainable, community-driven health solutions.
Our Response
To address these issues, ESBN delivers impactful health services that reach those often overlooked by formal healthcare systems. Our key initiatives include:
Community Medical Camps: Providing free consultations, treatment, and referrals—serving over 817 individuals to date.
Blood Donation Drives: Partnering with local health authorities to collect over 100 units of life-saving blood, directly contributing to maternal health.
Health Education Campaigns: Reaching more than 10,000 people with information on maternal and child health, malaria prevention, nutrition, and hygiene.
How We Work
Our health programs are designed and led by experienced public health professionals, in collaboration with district hospitals, local health workers, and volunteers. We prioritize:
Grassroots Mobilization: Engaging communities to identify and address local health needs.
Preventive Education: Focusing on awareness to reduce disease burden.
Integrated Services: Combining health education with screenings and treatments.
Our Vision for the Future
ESBN is committed to building a healthier Tanzania—where no child or mother dies from preventable causes. By strengthening health systems from the ground up and promoting local leadership, we aim to create sustainable, long-term change.
Together, we are saving lives, one community at a time.
